In February, the volume of grain transfers by railway through the western border crossings significantly decreased. Such data was provided by Valery Tkachev, Deputy Director of the Department of Commercial Work of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia".

Throughout February, the volume of grain transfers across the Ukrainian-Polish border remained almost unchanged. 92 wagons moved through it every day. The decrease compared to January is 0.03 units per day.

Volumes decreased more significantly at other crossings. So, in February, approximately 56.5 wagons with grain per day went to Slovakia. The indicator decreased by 9.8 units per day.

The transfer across the Ukrainian-Hungarian border decreased by 11.2 wagons with grain. According to the results of February, the indicator was 36.7 units.

However, the largest decrease was the transfer of grain to Romania — 18.5 wagons per day. In February, the average daily indicator was 89 units.

As Valery Tkachev noted, a decrease in the volume of grain cargo transfers is recorded at the borders with Hungary, Slovakia and Romania. Throughout February, the volume of grain transfers on the border with Poland remained almost unchanged, but recently grain transfers have decreased due to the actions of protesters (temporary blocking of terminals, tracks, etc.)

"On the territory of Poland, there were five cases of protesters opening sealed wagons with grain loads. At the moment, nothing interferes with the transfer of goods, the border railway crossings are working normally," the official added.
