The Verkhovna Rada terminated the agreement on merchant shipping with Syria
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted in its entirety the Government Draft Law on the Termination of the Agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of the Syrian Arab Republic on merchant shipping (reg. No. 0191 dated 09.03.2023). This was reported by the representative of the government in the VRU, Taras Melnychuk, CTS reports.
The draft law, in connection with the severance of diplomatic relations between Ukraine and the Syrian Arab Republic and the recognition of the territories temporarily occupied by it in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions of Ukraine as independent people's republics, provides for the termination of the bilateral agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the government of the Syrian Arab Republic on merchant shipping.
