The United Kingdom intends to abolish tariffs and quotas on goods from Ukraine

Currently, the average import duty on Ukrainian goods is about 22%

The United Kingdom has announced its intention to abolish import duties and quotas on all goods imported from Ukraine.

The British government notes that customs tariff rates will be reduced to zero, and all quotas will be abolished at the direct request of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.

"This step will give impetus to the development of Ukrainian enterprises that produce key export goods, such as barley, honey, canned tomatoes and poultry," the statement said.

Currently, the average tariff on Ukrainian imports is about 22%. The planned change was proposed on a non-reciprocal basis, but Ukraine is also likely to lift tariffs on imports from Britain.

"We are steadfast in supporting Ukraine in this ongoing struggle and will work to ensure that it survives and prospers as a free and sovereign country," said Anne-Marie Trevelyan, Minister for International Trade in the United Kingdom.

In addition, the British government has said it will impose further bans on exports to Russia, including cash, as well as marine and energy products and technologies.

As reported by GMK Center, the Ministry of Economy said earlier that in the post-war plan for the recovery and development of Ukraine will require the G7 and the European Union to exempt domestic products from all quotas and import tariffs. Thus, Ukrainian producers can get the opportunity to freely export their products to markets that cover 54% of the world economy.
