In total, in the first quarter of 2024, 23.39 million tons of cargo were transported by rail in the export connection (+7.86 million tons or +50.6% to the first quarter of 2023).
"The reason for the significant increase in export shipments is the effective operation of the Ukrainian cargo export corridor through the ports of Great Odesa," Tkachev said.
According to operational data, during March 2024, 16.01 million tons of cargo were transported by railway (+1.46 million tons or +10.01% compared to the volume of February 2024).
During March 2024, 8.13 million tons of cargo were transported by rail in the export network (+0.37 million tons or +4.7% compared to the volume of February 2024).
In the structure of export transportation by rail for March 2024, first place was taken by iron ore, manganese - 3.578 million tons. In second place are grain cargoes - 3.242 million tons, and in third place are ferrous metals - 0.37 million tons.
