"Ukrzaliznytsia" increased the average daily cargo load by more than 20% in April

"Ukrzaliznytsia" in April 2023 increased the average daily cargo load by 20.6% until April 2022 - up to 360.5 thousand tons. The load indicator from April 2023 to March decreased by 6%."Despite the situational decrease in the volume of transportation compared to March 2023, we expect a positive indicator of the growth of freight transportation until last year. For our part, we are doing everything to fully restore export rail transportation to countries of Europe and compensate for the volumes that were lost due to blocking and uncertainty regarding export and transit cargoes going through the EU", - stressed the chairman of the board of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" Yevhen Lyashchenko.

Thus, in April 2023, the average daily load of strategically important cargoes increased: hard coal - by 22% (up to 68.3 thousand tons), oil and oil products - by 27% (up to 8.6 thousand tons), ferrous metals - by 25% (up to 19 thousand tons), construction cargo - more than twice (up to 32.2 thousand tons).

The average daily load of grain cargoes in April 2023 increased by 76% to April 2022, but decreased by 17% to March of this year.

"At the moment, we see the transportation of agricultural cargo as a priority in cargo work, because the new sowing season has already begun. We are working on the renewal of export and transit transportation and ensuring uninterrupted work on the internal network," stressed Vyacheslav Yeryomin, a member of the board of JSC UZ.
