According to the people's deputy, they plan to collect an additional 26 billion hryvnias due to the increase in freight tariffs.

"Ukrzaliznytsia" is preparing a significant increase in tariffs for freight transportation.
According to TTS, this was reported by People's Deputy of Ukraine Oleksiy Goncharenko.
"They shared with me an internal document of the state monopoly. They plan to collect an additional UAH 26 billion by raising cargo tariffs, for which, in one of the options, the tariffs will be increased by +37%. Since 2022, by the way, the tariffs have already increased by 70%." - noted the People's Deputy.
According to Honcharenko, there is currently no urgent need to raise tariffs, because there is already a profit due to past increases.
"Of course, +26 billion UAH will not be collected, because enterprises will simply start to stop," he concluded.

We would like to remind you that from January 1, 2022, tariffs for freight rail transportation of goods of the first tariff class increased by 9%. This was stipulated by Order No. 586. Before that, tariff indexation also took place in August 2021.
In June 2022, UZ immediately raised tariffs for freight transportation by 70%.
Business representatives have repeatedly stated that UZ needs to focus not on raising tariffs, but on growing its freight base and reducing costs (for example, operating costs), which have increased significantly over the last period. The "Ukrmetalurgprom" association, in turn, stated that the increase in tariffs for railway transportation will seriously affect the industry.
