Ukraine Recovery Conference
As part of the Ukraine Recovery Conference, the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine, Oleksandr Kubrakov, presented key projects for the development of logistics in wartime at a meeting with representatives of foreign businesses.
"Now our budget is almost 100% directed to military needs and social benefits. It is obvious that under such conditions, state resources are not enough for the restoration and adjustment of logistics.
Business participation in logistics projects related to increasing the export potential of Ukraine is important, in particular, it concerns the export of food. Due to the blockade of sea ports, more than 400 million people in the most vulnerable countries of Africa and Asia were on the verge of starvation.
We are grateful to the business that works with us. The business is already investing 90 million dollars in the construction of new terminals in river ports. In addition, more than 30 million is planned to be invested in the construction of new railway terminals.
If Ukrainian business and the state receive the support of international partners, we will be able to increase the window for export, import, and movement of humanitarian aid. The economic security not only of Ukraine, but also of the whole world is under threat," said Oleksandr Kubrakov, Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine.
During the event, Oleksandr Kubrakov presented the following key infrastructure projects for attracting private business funds:
development of railway infrastructure to increase the volume of Ukrainian exports
increasing the capacity of automobile checkpoints on the western borders
construction and repair of roads leading to the borders development of Ukrainian Danube ports ("Izmail", "Reni" and "Ust-Dunaisk")
The Minister of Infrastructure also spoke about the creation of an open electronic reconstruction management system, with the help of which anyone interested can find out about specific damages, procurement of works for reconstruction and get information about the use of funds. The electronic system will become one of the effective anti-corruption reconstruction tools.
We will remind, yesterday within the framework of the Ukraine Recovery Conference Oleksandr Kubrakov presented to international partners and business representatives the vision of restoring the infrastructure of Ukraine destroyed by the aggressor.
