The process of transferring automobile checkpoints to the sphere of management of the Reconstruction Agency has begun, - Kubrakov

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted a resolution according to which the Agency for Reconstruction and Development of Infrastructure will be responsible for the implementation of projects of construction, repair, arrangement and modernization of automobile checkpoints, as well as their maintenance. At the same time, the state policy for the development of such points, which will be directly implemented by the Recovery Agency, will be formed by the Ministry of Community Development, Territories and Infrastructure, writes the Central Committee of the Central Bank of Ukraine.

"The development of logistics on the western borders remains one of the ministry's priorities. As part of this work, in the last year since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, we have opened 2 new checkpoints on the border with Romania, as well as a control point on the temporary infrastructure on the border with Poland. We also continue to simplify the crossing " - said the Deputy Prime Minister for the Reconstruction of Ukraine - the Minister of Community Development, Territories and Infrastructure Oleksandr Kubrakov.

As part of the "Open Border" project, the Dyakivtsi-Rakovec checkpoint on the border with Romania was opened this year for the movement of empty trucks, and the temporary infrastructure of the Nizhankovichi-Malhovice checkpoint on the border with Poland was installed in the shortest possible time.

In 2022, another new checkpoint was opened on the border with Romania - "Krasnoilsk - Vikovu de Sus". In addition, last year, the throughput capacity of the Krakivec-Korchova point was expanded and the work in front of the Yagodyn-Dorogusk point was streamlined, and the passage of vehicles with a total permissible weight of more than 7.5 tons was introduced.

To date, 100 automobile checkpoints and control points across the state border have been established in Ukraine for automobile traffic, including international, interstate, and local. Before today's government decision, they belonged to the sphere of administration of the State Customs Service.

Out of these 100 checkpoints, 33 checkpoints remain completely unequipped, another 20 checkpoints, which were built in Soviet times, need significant reconstruction.
