The company is also ready to explain to businesses which areas of expenditure and investment cannot be financed without indexation.

Oleksandr Pertsovskyi, the chairman of the board of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia", promises to discuss with business the indexation of state-regulated tariffs for cargo transportation, writes TTS.
"We submit our proposals for further consideration in the established order. It is important for us that the changes and rationale are clear to our customers: from the largest mining holdings to small farmers. We are interested in working together to increase volumes, determined to fight "for every ton" so that it is transported by railway," he said.
According to Pertsovsky, the company is ready to report to the business which areas of expenditure and investment cannot be financed without indexation. "We will discuss possible compensators for specific vulnerable sectors," added the head of the UZ.
It will be recalled that the TTS wrote that the supervisory board of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" approved proposals for changes to the state-regulated tariffs for cargo transportation. These proposals were approved by the company's board on December 5, 2024. In the future, these proposals will be sent for consideration by the Tariff Council under the Ministry of Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine.
The railwaymen proposed a 37% rate indexation. "Only 37%," says the announcement of the UZ.
"We will openly present and explain the indexation proposals to our customers - both the largest and the smallest shippers from all sectors of the economy, and we will also record with them what compensators and operational improvements they expect from Ukrzaliznytsia", - explained Oleksandr Pertsovsky, the chairman of the board of JSC UZ.
TTS wrote that "Ukrzaliznytsia" is preparing to increase tariffs for freight transportation. People's Deputy of Ukraine Oleksiy Goncharenko reported this: "I was shared an internal document of the state monopoly. They plan to collect an additional UAH 26 billion there due to the increase in cargo tariffs, for which in one of the options the tariffs will be increased by +37%. From 2022, by the way , tariffs have already increased by 70%."
We would like to remind you that from January 1, 2022, tariffs for freight rail transportation of goods of the first tariff class increased by 9%. This was stipulated by Order No. 586. Before that, tariff indexation also took place in August 2021.
In June 2022, UZ immediately raised tariffs for freight transportation by 70%.
Business representatives have repeatedly stated that UZ needs to focus not on raising tariffs, but on growing its cargo base and reducing costs (for example, operating costs), which have increased significantly over the last period. The "Ukrmetalurgprom" association, in turn, stated that the increase in tariffs for railway transportation will seriously affect the industry.
