The Ministry of Reconstruction is launching eCheru at 15 more cargo checkpoints

The system of online reservation of places for crossing the border by cargo carriers (eCherga) will operate at a total of 16 checkpoints with EU countries and Moldova. 15 more checkpoints will be added to the "Yagodin - Dorogusk" checkpoint already operating under this system. The decision was made today at a meeting of the Government.

"The pilot project launched in December of last year proved that we can eliminate physical queues, manage traffic flows and treat carriers with respect," said Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Community Development, Territories and Infrastructure Oleksandr Kubrakov. Since December, more than 75,000 trucks have left Ukraine thanks to the electronic service at just one border crossing point, Yagodyn-Dorogusk. Mandatory queues on Yagodina helped avoid a collapse in the days when Poland suspended grain imports. Trucks carrying other products continued to move according to the specified time.

According to the Vice Prime Minister, the project has several key advantages: for carriers, it is an obvious economic effect - you can plan transportation and not spend money on several days of downtime at the borders. For the state, it is a tool for analyzing traffic flows, streamlining transportation and eliminating physical queues at borders.

eCherga is a service that has no analogues in any country of the European Union. It was developed by the Ministry of Development of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure together with the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine and the State Agency for Reconstruction and Development of Infrastructure of Ukraine with the support of the USAID/UKaid project TAPAS Project/Transparency and Accountability in Public Administration and Services and is implemented jointly with Ukrtransbezpeka. This is a completely free public service.

Until the end of May, eChera will work in test mode. The largest checkpoints will be added to the Jagodyn checkpoint: Rava-Ruska, Krakowiec, Sheghini, Uzhgorod, Porubne, Tysa (Chop) – Zahon, Reni and others. Registration of drivers in the electronic queue will begin on May 8. This can be done in the application or on the website https://echerha.gov.ua/. From the middle of May, crossing the border for trucks will be possible only by registering in an electronic queue. The Ministry plans to extend the service to passenger transportation.

The queue is only part of the systematic work on modernization and development of border crossing points. During the year, they will be transferred to the management of the Agency for the Reconstruction of Ukraine.
