
On November 26, a meeting of the Subcommittee on Maritime Transport was held, at which the government draft law on amendments to some legislative acts of Ukraine regarding the regulation of activities in the sphere of life protection and search and rescue at sea (No. 9283) was considered and prepared for the second reading.
The project was developed with the aim of creating legislative prerequisites to ensure constant readiness to provide assistance to people who are in distress on the high seas, in accordance with Ukraine's obligations under international multilateral treaties in the field of merchant shipping.
On May 22, 2024, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine considered the draft in the first reading and adopted it as a basis.
Before the second reading, the Committee received 295 amendments and proposals from 7 people's deputies.
The meeting was attended by Timur Tkachenko - Deputy Minister of Development of Communities and Territories, Andriy Tarasov - Chief of Staff - First Deputy Commander of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, representatives of the State Service of Ukraine for Emergency Situations, the Shipping Administration, the State Border Service Administration, the SE "Seaports Administration of Ukraine" , Ministry of Finance, State Aviation Service, KP "Marine Search and Rescue service".
A meeting of the Subcommittee on road transport was also held.
People's deputies discussed issues related to the activities of the State Transport Safety Service of Ukraine, problematic issues of its functioning and ways to solve them.
The event was attended by Timur Tkachenko - Deputy Minister of Community and Territorial Development and Mykyta Lagunin - Head of Ukrtransbezpeka.
