
The items on the agenda related to the latest measures implemented in the direction of strengthening the institutional capacity of the State Customs Service and the integration of Ukrainian customs into the European customs space, the future reboot of the body, developments in the field of international customs cooperation and the implementation of the Anti-Corruption Program.
Separately, it was about the successful restoration of container traffic with the ports of Great Odesa. Business representatives noted that thanks to the consolidated position of all interested parties, container ships regularly enter ports and Ukrainian products, including agricultural products, can be exported in the traditional way - by sea.
Serhiy Zvyagintsev, head of the State Customs Service, informed business representatives about the department's initiatives, which can be expected to be implemented in the near future. In particular, about the introduction of the electronic log of the checkpoint, prospects for strengthening the direction of international cooperation of the State Customs Service and information exchange with partner countries, results in the development of customs infrastructure on the western border, etc.
In addition, Serhiy Zvyagintsev announced work on a complex network solution for checkpoints on the Ukrainian border, which involves intelligent video surveillance in real time, complete data recording and the unification of all control methods into one analytical system for detecting risky operations.
"Such an approach will contribute to increasing the effectiveness of detection of offenses at the border, while reducing corruption risks," he said.
Regarding certain issues raised at the meeting, the parties agreed to hold additional working meetings and consultations. In general, representatives of the Public Council positively assessed the quality of communication between business and the State Customs Service, noting that subjects of foreign economic activity always receive the necessary explanations.
