KAZAKHSTAN IS INTERESTED IN USING LATVIA PORTS TO ENTER EUROPEAN MARKETS

A meeting between the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic, Roman Sklyar, and the Minister of Transport of Latvia, Atis Švinka, took place in Astana (Kazakhstan). During the talks, key issues of bilateral cooperation in the transport and logistics sector were discussed.

“Positive dynamics in the development of railway and transit transportation were noted, as well as growing interest in using Latvian ports to enter the markets of Kazakhstani cargoes in Europe and other regionsin”, — the post notes.

Particular attention is paid to the prospects for the development of new logistics routes, in particular in the field of e-commerce and the Trans-Caspian international transport route.

As previously reported, Estonia and Latvia can become transit hubs for Kazakh grain.
