Iran's Minister of Roads and Urban Development and India's Foreign Minister on Monday agreed on the development of the Chabahar port, IRNA reported.
Iranian Roads Minister Mehrdad Bazrpash met with Indian Foreign Minister Subramaniam Jaishankar and reached a final agreement on the development of the Chabahar port in the southeast of the country.
The Iranian minister also suggested creating a joint railway committee to expand bilateral cooperation, noting that such an act would lead to the activation of transit opportunities and the use of the North-South MTK.
Subramaniam Jaishankar at this meeting expressed India's willingness to invest in transport and transit projects in Iran, and invited Bazrpash to visit India.
The development of the second phase of the port named after "Shahid Abbasi" and the provision of strategic equipment to improve cargo handling capacity are on the agenda of the Iranian government at Chabahar port.
