
The first train of the new railway route Turkey-Iran-Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan arrived in Tashkent
The meeting ceremony of the first freight train on the new railway route Turkey-Iran-Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan was held at the Central Railway Station of Tashkent. A railway train with 40 cars loaded with household appliances (refrigeration equipment) arrived in Uzbekistan, passing through the territory of Turkey, Iran and Turkmenistan. More than 250 wagons are planned to arrive on this route. The freight railway route Turkey-Iran-Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan with a total length of more than 4,500 km was developed by JSC "Uzbekiston Temir Yullari" together with the Turkish side. The project of implementation of initiatives regarding the organization of interstate transportation by alternative routes was adopted in Samarkand (Uzbekistan) at the first meeting of the heads of railway administrations of the countries of the Organization of Turkic-speaking States. At the negotiations, the transportation route from the Turkish Izmir ("Gumrukh" station) to Tashkent was approved.
