The EU project on electronic information on cargo transportation received 15 million euros for 4 years

The digital transition will apply to autoroad, rail, inland water and air transport.
The European Union's electronic freight transport information (eFTI) initiative has received more than €15.2 million in funding over the next four years.
In particular, the eFTI4EU project (a practical project focused on testing, development and implementation of technological solutions within the framework of the eFT initiative) aimed at the digitalization of cargo transportation documents, which currently mostly exist in paper form, received funding.
According to the initiators of the project, this will save labor resources for data processing and speed up the exchange of information. However, the fragmentation of the European transport system may create obstacles for the smooth implementation of eFTI on a large scale.
Full-scale pilot projects for eFTI (12 national and 8 international) are due to start next year across Europe, and the project concept should be confirmed by the end of this year.
eFTI (Electronic Freight Transport Information) is an initiative of the European Union aimed at digitizing documents for the transportation of goods.
This digital transition will apply to road, rail, inland water and air transport. The main goal of eFTI is to create a single legal and technical standard for the exchange of electronic information about freight transportation between all parties in the supply chain: carriers, customers, customs and other control authorities.
