Shipping and logistics giant CMA CGM Group has acquired the UK’s largest maritime intermodal operator Freightliner, writes Carol Millett.
The deal, for an undisclosed sum, covers Freightliner’s rail and road operations, its domestic terminals and the Freightliner brand.
It is understood that Freightliner’s heavy-haul freight train division, along with Rotterdam Rail Feeding and Freightliner Poland/Germany, will remain under existing management.
The deal is expected to close in early 2026, subject to regulatory approvals.
