This is the best indicator since the beginning of the Great War, but almost half the volume of 2021.
According to operational data, according to the results of work in 2024, JSC Ukrzaliznytsia transported 174.93 million tons of cargo, which is 26.5 million tons or 17.9% more compared to 2023.
According to the Central Railways, this was reported by the Deputy Director of the Department of Commercial Work of Ukrzaliznytsia Valeriy Tkachev.
"This is the best annual indicator of the volume of cargo transportation by rail during wartime, achieved thanks to the unblocking of the export of goods through the ports of Greater Odessa," he noted.

Over the past month, there has been a decline in the volume of cargo transportation by rail due to systemic impacts on the energy system of Ukraine and loss of control over part of the territory.
