
Polish railway infrastructure operator Polskie Linie Kolejowe (PKP PLK) plans to hold tenders for projects co-financed by the European Union under the national program European Funds for Infrastructure, Climate and Environment 2021-2027 (FEnIKS). Tenders for works in several regions of Poland will be announced in the fourth quarter of 2025. Their total cost is PLN 1.4 billion (EUR 328 million), writes the CTS.
A comprehensive modernization of the Wrocław-Psie-Połe - Wrocław-Soltysovice section is planned, including the renewal of track infrastructure, engineering structures, platforms at the Wrocław-Psie-Połe station, as well as the traffic management system.
The aim is to increase the capacity and optimise the movement of trains (both passenger and freight) at the Wrocław railway junction. The cost of this project is over PLN 190 million (EUR 44.6 million).
In the Silesian Voivodeship, the reconstruction of the Tychy - Bierun-Stary section will begin, which will allow increasing the speed of trains to 120 km/h.
The project, worth over PLN 522 million (EUR 122.6 million), includes the construction of new stops and the reconstruction of crossings.
On the Toruń-Główny - Toruń-Szkodny section, the tracks, platforms and the historic Ernest Malinowski Bridge, built in 1873, will be modernised, on which a pedestrian and cycle path will be set up. The Toruń-Miaśto and Toruń-Szkodny stations will be adapted for passengers with reduced mobility.
The cost of the works is over PLN 685 million (EUR 161 million).
FEnIKS is a continuation of the Infrastructure and Environment programme. Its budget exceeds PLN 113 billion, of which over PLN 91 billion comes from EU funds.
The programme is aimed at developing a sustainable economy in Poland, including through investments in transport infrastructure, energy, and environmental improvement.
