The average daily volume of cargo transfers through the Ukrainian-Hungarian railway border crossings in November increased to record values. This was discussed during the online meeting of representatives of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" with Hungarian carriers on November 12, writes Rail.insider.
Currently, the average daily rate of cargo transfer through the Chop-Zakhon junction is 62.9 wagons. This is 10.2 units (or 19.3%) higher than in October and is a record for the current year. In turn, the October indicator exceeded the September volume by 12.3 wagons per day. At that time, the volumes of grain and oil shipments showed growth. In November, the trend of increasing volumes of cross-border transportation of these goods continued. Cargo in containers was also added to them.
The positive trend is maintained for the second month in a row at the Batyovo-Epereshke crossing. In October, the average daily volume of cargo transfers was 77.6 wagons. Compared to September, the growth was 17.5 units per day (or 28.8%). The number of wagons with ore and grain heading through the crossing increased.
In November, the volume of cargo transfer increased to 83.3 wagons per day. This is 5.6 units (or 7.2%) more than in October, and is a record for the current year. The volumes of ore, oil and oil cargo transfers have increased.
As previously reported, the drop in the volume of cargo transfers to Hungary in nine months reached almost 40%.
