The agency is working with Polish colleagues to prevent carriers from renewing the blockade of the border.
The Ministry of Development of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure of Ukraine spoke about the situation at cargo checkpoints on the border with Poland.
"We are working with our Polish colleagues to prevent the renewal of the blockade of the border by carriers. The Ministry of Infrastructure of Poland has agreements with the protesters until March 1. In order to prevent the blockade from being renewed after that date, we are jointly conducting substantive work," said Deputy Minister of Community Development, Territories and Infrastructure Serhiy Derkach.
According to him, today the situation at the border is as follows: online queues that used to last for several weeks are now counted in a few days, in some places they are not there at all. However, not all unlocked checkpoints operate at full capacity.
"Rava-Ruska - Grebenne" and "Krakivets-Korchova" do not reach even 50% of the implementation of the memorandum. And this is key so that there are no queues at all. "Yagodin-Dorogusk" not only restored the throughput, but even improved the indicators that existed before the blockade. The biggest problem now is veterinary and phytosanitary queues. These are goods, mainly agricultural products, for which Poland has introduced separate control. The online waiting time for such trucks to cross the border can reach 20 days," Derkach emphasized.
He added that the number of trucks crossing the border every day decreased at the "Nyzhankovichi-Malhovice" checkpoint after the launch of the pilot without registration in eCherza. Earlier it was about 150 empty, now - 70-80. Drivers choose other checkpoints - where there is a Queue.
"For the economy, it is important to use each checkpoint at full capacity. The main thing is that cargo should go to checkpoints for loaded ones, not empty ones. Of course, the reduction of all queues is also affected by seasonality - that is, a decrease in cargo flow in general. Next week, we will work together at the border to find ways to improve the indicators of crossing the border, and most importantly - to minimize any queues," the official concluded.
