About 3,000 trucks are waiting in queues at the border of Ukraine and Poland. The directions of three checkpoints are currently being blocked. This was announced by the spokesman of the State Border Service Andriy Demchenko, Ukrinform reports.
"The directions of the Rava-Ruska-Grebenne, Krakivets-Korchova, and Yahodyn-Dorogusk checkpoints are still being blocked." According to the information of the Polish border guards, as of this morning, 1,620 trucks are standing in queues in these three directions towards Ukraine, the most - in front of the checkpoints "Yagodin" and "Rava-Ruska", the spokesman said.
Demchenko reminded that on December 24, traffic was unblocked in the direction of the Sheghini-Medyka checkpoint, but queues remain - 1,200 trucks are waiting to pass.
According to him, truck traffic is not blocked in other areas of the border. However, due to actions on the territory of Poland, drivers and carriers are looking for alternative routes, which leads to an increase in the traffic of trucks in other directions, and as a result - to an increase in queues.
As of this morning, 200 trucks were expected to pass on the border with Slovakia towards Ukraine in the direction of the Uzhhorod checkpoint.
There are no queues at the border with Hungary.
On the border with Romania, as of this morning, 420 trucks were expected to pass towards Ukraine in the direction of the Porubne checkpoint.
We will remind you that since November 6, Polish carriers have started a strike and are blocking the movement of trucks across the Ukrainian-Polish border. In particular, the movement of freight transport in the direction of the three largest checkpoints: "Korchova-Krakivets", "Grebenne-Rava Ruska", "Dorogusk-Yagodin" is blocked. Later, on November 23, the transporters blocked the checkpoint "Medyka-Sheghini".
In the evening of December 22, it became known that representatives of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Poland and Ukraine agreed on an action plan for unblocking the border.
