The total accumulation of wagons moving in the direction of the western border crossings decreased to 12 thousand 222 units in October. This was discussed during a meeting of representatives of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" and grain market participants on October 12.
Thanks to the operation of the temporary corridor for the export of grain, the volume of transportation of agricultural products in the direction of the ports of Great Odesa increased significantly in October. In particular, for 11 days in October, the indicator reached 228,300 tons. At the same time, 275,500 tons were transferred through the western border crossings during this period.
In addition, since the beginning of October, 519,600 tons of grain have been loaded on the railway network of Ukraine. Recently, there has been an increase in the daily load index to more than 60,000 tons.
During October, the queue was reduced by 871 cars. The most significant decrease is observed in grain cargoes. So, in October, their number decreased by 650 wagons — to 2,560 units.
As Valery Tkachov, deputy director of the commercial work department of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" noted, this is most likely due to the fact that due to the more or less rhythmic operation of the temporary Black Sea corridor, shippers began to redirect grain to the ports of Greater Odessa.
However, the accumulation of wagons with oil increased by 50% - from 446 to 668 units, as well as meal - by 98 wagons, to 444 units.
As for the transfer of goods, the most difficult situation is observed at the Vadul-Siret-Dornesti crossing (Romania). Almost 1,440 wagons are headed for it, 526 of them with grain, and 600 with forest cargo.
There is also a significant accumulation of wagons along the three Ukrainian-Polish junctions. So, approximately 2,000 wagons are headed for the Mostysk II-Medyk crossing, of which almost 1,000 are with containers and 400 are with metals. 1,400 wagons are moving in the direction of the Yagodyn-Dorogusk junction, almost 800 of them with grain loads. On the Izov-Hrubeshuv crossing, there are difficulties with the accumulation of cakes and meal. More than 900 such wagons are headed there from a total queue of almost 2,900 units. More than 300 wagons with oil are moving there.
According to Valery Tkachev, othersother border junctions operate at 20–40% of their capacity.
At the same time, the queue of wagons in the direction of the port of Izmail shortened. Yes, currently approximately 4,400 wagons are heading there, of which almost 1,750 are with grain. However, the situation at the Reni station is critical, the accumulation is almost 900 cars.
