16TH SEEFF CONGRESS AND FIATA REU 2026 REGIONAL MEETING

The 16th SEEFF Congress took place in Bucharest, Romania, simultaneously with the FIATA REU 2026 Regional Meeting, one of the most important international events for the freight forwarding, transport and logistics industry in South-Eastern Europe, from 18 to 20 May 2026. The forum was organized by the Romanian Freight Forwarders Association USER in cooperation with the South-Eastern European Freight Forwarders Association (SEEFF) and FIATA Region Europe (REU) under the motto “United for Regional Progress in Logistics”.
The event brought together representatives of national freight forwarder associations, international organizations, European institutions, logistics companies and experts from all over Europe and the Caspian Sea region. Participants included representatives from FIATA, CLECAT, IATA, UIRR, ESPORG, TAPA EMEA, the European Commission, the Port of Constanta Authority and other leading organisations in the sector.
The congress programme included a series of high-level panels and discussions on security and risk management in supply chains, the development of intermodal and transport corridors in Central and South-Eastern Europe, digitalisation and new European standards, sustainability and decarbonisation in logistics, and the future of multimodal transport.
Special emphasis was placed on topics such as eFTI, the Mobility Package, the Green Deal, TEN-T corridors, the development of the Middle Corridor, cybersecurity, prevention of transport fraud and the adaptation of freight forwarding companies to increasing regulatory and technological requirements.
The congress saw official meetings between FIATA Region Europe and SEEFF, focusing on the main challenges facing the sector, the need for better connectivity and infrastructure in the region, digital transformation and the sustainable development of logistics chains. Representatives of SEEFF’s freight forwarding member associations signed a joint declaration addressing the main challenges facing the sector, a number of national and international authorities and institutions. The forum highlighted the role of South-East Europe as a strategic logistics region and stressed the importance of closer cooperation between businesses, professional organisations and institutions in a dynamically changing international environment.
