Ukrainian exports in September grew to a record value since the beginning of the war, - Ministry of Economy

The Ministry of Economy reported that the volume of Ukrainian exports in September 2022 increased by 32% compared to August - up to 9.66 million tons, writes CTS.

It is noted that in August, the volume of Ukrainian products exported abroad amounted to 7.29 million tons.

"Ukrainian exports in September grew to a record value since the beginning of the war. In the first month of autumn, the volume of Ukrainian exports in monetary terms increased by more than 23% compared to August of this year," the message reads.

It is also reported that last month Ukrainian enterprises exported products worth 4 billion 144 million dollars.

"For comparison, in August this figure was 3 billion 363 million dollars. This is the best result since February 2022," the Ministry of Economy added.

The ministry emphasized that the war and the blockade of ports created a distortion in the logistics chains of domestic exports. Thus, in September of last year, the export of corn amounted to only 157,000 tons, that is, 13 times less than in September of this year. This was due to the fact that last year's crop corn was not exported on time due to the blockade of the ports, and now its export is delayed. This creates additional pressure on logistics and prices.
